This opinion editorial, written by Ed Rogers, is a pretty genius piece of work. Rogers touches base on the upcoming election of the US Senate and the possibility of Republicans taking it back. He says that Obama's economy will not, by any means, work in the Democrats' favor. And boy, do I agree with Rogers on this one. Rogers' is a completely credible guy. He's a well-known reporter and has a Masters in political science. His intended audience is, obviously, American citizens. The arguments he makes are backed up by 100% real statistics.
Rogers uses Obama's interview in "60 Minutes" to prove that Obama is trying to conceal the real status of our economy. In this interview, Obama states that he has made the economy substantially better than it was before. Rogers' then continues to note that Obama is "overstating our country’s economic strength, saying something different than what people can see for themselves." This statement is absolutely, one-hundred percent true. Obama almost always puts America on a pedestal verbally and conceals the real truth of our economic status. Have we ever heard this man admit to making a mistake?
Rogers also uses statistical data to prove his point that Obama's policies have not and will not ever benefit our economy. For example, Rogers' states that "under Obama’s economic policies, the numbers of billionaires and food-stamp recipients have grown robust, but everything else has been a bust. According to Sentier Research, “real median household income is down almost 4 percent from where it was when the recovery started in June 2009. … During the recession itself, household income dropped only 2.6 percent.” Middle-class families are struggling. Fear, uncertainty and a sense of economic fragility has not abated, real growth has not taken hold and voters do not feel optimistic about the future."
